The region of Umbria offers a vast choice of naturalistic itineraries, to be made by foot, bike or horse; they pass through several different kind of landscapes, each offering a different view, but equally beautiful.
In Umbria there are many natural parks and naturalistic oasis. Of particular interest, are the followings, both located in mountain areas, too often left aside by tourists due to a lack of time.
- Parco del Monte Cucco: it winds among the areas of Gubbio, Gualdo Tadino and Sigillo and it's very well known by those who love trekking, mountain bike, paragliding, spelaeology and cross country skiing.

Absolutely marvelous are the landscapes of “Piano Grande” near Castelluccio, with the astonishing Monte Vettore (2476 m) on the background. Especially during spring time the Plateau is a heaven full of flowers. Very important is the fauna of this park, with its wolves, royal eagles and hawks. Most popular sports here are trekking, horse riding, mountain bike, cross-country skiing, skiing, rafting, climbing, cannoning.
The town of Norcia, native land of S. Benedetto, is definitely worth visiting. Don't miss one of the many butcher shops in Norcia where they make the famous sausages and other special meat products, well known in the whole of Italy.
