Santo Cileo is a small complex of a renovated trullo and two modern outbuildings perfectly embedded in the enchanting Valle d'Itria in Puglia, with an inviting swimming pool of 8 by 4 meters and a shaded garden surrounded by centuries old olive trees. A picturesque retreat in a quiet location, ideal for one or two families. The three buildings are perfectly equipped and designed in a comfortable modern stuyle. You will find two kitchens, two living areas, a spacious dining area and nice outdoor spaces with beautiful views over the photogenic landscape. The trullo has two high cones and whitewashed walls, one meter thick, making it refreshingly cool and remarkably distinctive inside.
The units are very tastefully decorated, worked with beautiful materials, coordinated colors, special tiled floors and large steel windows and glass doors. Outside you will often take a seat on the covered terrace and enjoy the view from the attractive roof terrace. From Santo Cielo it's an easy drive to beautiful sandy beaches, good restaurants and beautiful villages, like Martina Franca which is the nearest town.
The Valle D'Itria is a well known atmospheric UNESCO area, known for its white "Trulli" homes, the charming villages & towns and a choice of beautiful beaches. Olive groves, orchards and vineyards you will find everywhere around you. Martina Franca is a photogenic old town full of baroque white buildings. The centro storico is free of car traffic, so you can wander around squares and alleys. In any case, settle down at the historic Caffè Tripoli (Via Garibaldi 25) to taste bocconotti, a sweet treat with pastry cream and cherries. At butcher Michele Cito, or one of his colleagues, you buy the famous capocollo (ham), the local meat specialty and an indispensable souvenir. Outside the city, in the hills of the Murgia region, you will also find a number of magnificent masseria, which have dominated the Puglia landscape for centuries, among groups of trulli and olive groves.
