Villa Capo

In the middle of a traditional Puglian town you can refresh yourself in the pool and enjoy long summer evenings under the bamboo pergola and have a stroll in the center afterwards.

Villa Capo located in the middle of the center of Gagliano del Capo, a quiet village in the heart of the Salento, is a unique modern holiday home. This house was designed by a well known architectural studio where a central courtyard creates good privay and an exceptional tower provides views over town.

Sliding glass doors connect the courtyard to the living room and kitchen, which when open create one cosy open space area inside and outside. The living areas have a minalist design with modern pieces of furniture and design elements.

Three of the five ensuite bedrooms are located in the tower. The other 2 bedrooms are on the ground floor. The bedrooms in the tower offer unique views over the village and the sea. There is small roof terrace at the end of the stairs which is a romantic spot for a drink under the stars.

Villa Capo is a perfect location for exploring this beautiful part of Puglia. Just 15 minutes away is the attractive coastal town of Santa Maria di Leuca, surrounded by crystal blue waters. The beaches in this area are amazing and also called 'le maldive del Salento'. Don't miss the lovely town of Tricase where having dinner in the evening at one of the small squares is unique. Towns like Otranto and Lecce are wonderful destinations for culture and shopping lovers.

Leisure & Activities

The area is ideal to bike as the country side is mainly flat land. The wonderful beaches of the Salento with their white sand and blue sees are unique in Europe. Just a 10-minute drive away is the lively village of Santa Maria di Leuca, known for its beautiful sandy beaches and picturesque sea caves such as the Grotte di Vedusella and the Grotta delle Tre Porte. Kayak tours leave from Santa Maria di Leuca to the caves. The village of Torre Vado (15 minutes away) has a gorgeous sandy beach, Spiaggia di Posto Vecchio, a small harbor, and a pedestrian promenade, perfect for an evening stroll. Other beautiful beaches in Salento are Torre Del Orso Santa Andrea and Alimini. The Baroque city of Lecce, known as the Florence of the South, is an hour's drive away and the city of Otranto with its lovely cathedral with ancient mosaics is a forty-five-minute drive. The medieval town of Castro (30 min) has a fantastic position on a hill and a beautiful marina (below) that has retained its old atmosphere. Here you go for delicious fresh fish, charming piazzas, and terraces. Near Castro is a unique attraction, the Grotta Zinzulusa - a huge and fascinating cave of stalactites and stalagmites. An interesting excursion for young and old.

Your villa and Covid-19

To prevent any possible spread of Covid-19 and to enable you to enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday, all our villas are cleaned to the highest standard possible, and according to the latest Italian health and safety regulations.

Perfect hygiene: to ensure an exceptional level of hygiene in all our villas, we’ve worked with our owners to create a Covid-19 villa management protocol. Based on recommendations from the World Health Organisation, and in compliance with current Italian national law, this protocol goes above and beyond our usual rigorous cleaning standards.

Prior to arrival, your villa will have been fully sanitised, including all surfaces, objects, kitchen items, curtains, sofas, throws, pillows, toys, and in and around the pool. You are welcome to ask for a detailed list of the entire cleaning procedure we do after each departure and before welcoming new guests to the property.

The owner of this house has complied with the following standards:

  • To ensure the necessary information concerning social distancing and the use of masks is available to all guests
  • To guarantee availability of and accessibility to hand hygiene systems with hydro-alcoholic solutions and soaps in all inside areas of, and pertaining to, the villa
  • To guarantee cleaning and disinfection of all areas according to national authority guidelines. Further information is available on request
  • For the swimming pool: to guarantee the efficacy of the water treatments, while respecting legal limits (the parameter for free active chlorine in the pool is between 1.0 – 1.5 mg/l; combined chlorine ≤ 0.40 mg/l; pH 6.5 – 7.5 or equivalent oxygen)
  • For air conditioning systems: to guarantee the air re-circulation function is switched off and, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, with the plant in off-mode, to clean the air filters of the heating/cooling plants that use heat pumps, fan coils and convectors, at the end of each stay
