La Cave

La Cave is ancestral place, primitive, carved into the rock walls, spread over two levels with a living area above which enjoys a beautiful panoramic view and adjoining private garden with outdoor relaxation area in the cave. The charming sleeping area, on the lower floor, is characterized by the spacious shower and the white soft walls that envelop the space. La Cave is a comfortable holiday apartment for 2 guests. 3 extra beds can be added if requested.

The house was once part of of the ancient Hebrew quarter of Modica. The restoration of the small property has been inspired by the unique features of Arabic houses in the Medina, providing peaceful spaces in the heart of a busy town. It feels almost if you are part of a Moroccan riad.

Great attention has been given to the choise of materials, which are natural, ecological, and, above all, typical of the Sicilian tradition: stone walls, lime plasters, cane roof, stone and polychrom tiled floors.

La Cave is a 60m2 loft style apartment/single house with garden and terrace overlooking the old town. It's like a fairytale staying here and enjoying these views. In (quite) a few steps you enter the old town of Modica which is one of the well known Baroque towns in Sicily. From here you reach other interesting towns like Ragusa, Noto and Scicli easily and also the beach is only 10 km away.

La Cava can also be rented for a daily rate of EUR 350 (minimum stay 3 nights).
Daily prices can go up to: 3 guests EUR 400, 4 guests EUR 450, 5 guests EUR 500.
3 beds can be added, 2 in the living corner and 1 in the bedroom. The living corner beds we advise only for kids.
Cot can be added for an additional price.
Heating, airconditioning and cleaning included in the rental price.

Daily wonderful fresh breakfast on request for EUR 15 each person each day. Highly recommended.

Tourist tax: 1 to 3 Euro per day, per adult for the first 7 days. Children under 14 are not subject to this tax. To be paid in cash up on arrival.

The beautiful province of Ragusa offers 50 miles of unspoilt coastline, ranging from Pozzallo to Scoglitti. The first beach you will find in 10km. There are many beautiful beaches situated in both popular tourist areas and in and around small fishing villages, each giving you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the delights of the Sicilian riviera. Modica, in the South East of Sicily, is a place which has preserved its beautiful scenery and incredible natural beauty. Here, in the Val di Noto, natural caves and plateaus alternate with beautiful countryside with its typical farms, olive groves, almonds and carobs. We are in the baroque heart of the island, in front of Africa, where the most authentic culinary traditions and religious festivals are still continued and deeply felt by the inhabitants.

From the house different stairs leads down to the old town of Modica, a very beautiful walk along old small houses, narrow streets, very scenic. In town you will find everything you need. Modica has different very good restaurants (also Michelin), nice bars and beautiful shops. It's a town to stay and hard to leave.

Perfect hygiene: to ensure an exceptional level of hygiene in all our villas, we’ve worked with our owners to create a Covid-19 villa management protocol. Based on recommendations from the World Health Organisation, and in compliance with current Italian national law, this protocol goes above and beyond our usual rigorous cleaning standards.

Prior to arrival, your villa will have been fully sanitised, including all surfaces, objects, kitchen items, curtains, sofas, throws, pillows, toys, and in and around the pool. You are welcome to ask for a detailed list of the entire cleaning procedure we do after each departure and before welcoming new guests to the property.

The owner of this house has complied with the following standards:

To ensure the necessary information concerning social distancing and the use of masks is available to all guests
To guarantee availability of and accessibility to hand hygiene systems with hydro-alcoholic solutions and soaps in all inside areas of, and pertaining to, the villa

For the swimming pool: to guarantee the efficacy of the water treatments, while respecting legal limits (the parameter for free active chlorine in the pool is between 1.0 – 1.5 mg/l; combined chlorine ≤ 0.40 mg/l; pH 6.5 – 7.5 or equivalent oxygen)
For air conditioning systems: to guarantee the air re-circulation function is switched off and, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, with the plant in off-mode, to clean the air filters of the heating/cooling plants that use heat pumps, fan coils and convectors, at the end of each stay
