Lido

Perfectly located next to Noto and the Mediterranean coast, Lido is a contemporary villa where guests can entertain as well as fully relax in its multiple spaces both inside and out

Lido is an original and inspiring villa that sits on a gentle hilltop outside Noto, surrounded by cactus and olive trees and with breathtaking views of the town and the sea, all of which provide a kaleidoscope of colour and light.

The property includes three buildings, with the main house sitting at the highest point. Here, the ground floor comprises the sitting room in one wing and the kitchen with a dining table in the other, with further living space connecting the bot. A large covered terrace leads from either side, one with the outdoor kitchen and dining table and the other with a lounge area, accessed through various big, sliding glass doors.

The principal bedroom suite is on the first floor and it too has two terraces with stunning views to both the front and the back of the house. For those who are mesmerized by the view, and you really will be, stairs lead to a roof terrace where you can further gaze on the magnificent panorama.

A few steps lead down from the main house to the pool and the first annex from where you can admire the seascape from the shade of the pergola. The annex contains an en-suite double. A little further beyond is the second annex that sleeps two, also in an en-suite double.

The property is beautifully equipped with everything that guests will need whether they are partying, relaxing or enjoying both, inside and out. Stone, glass and concrete provide a calming backdrop to the colourful landscape outside and the collections of original artwork, ceramics and design-led furniture inside. Its layout makes it a brilliant place for three couples or for a family with older children.

Lido’s location, just 5km from delightful Noto and the sparkling coastline, is exquisite, and makes a fabulous base from which to explore this South-Eastern corner of Sicily.

Rooms description

Bedrooms

The three double en-suite bedrooms are divided over the three separate buildings, the principal one on the first floor of the main house and the other two occupying each of the annexes. Simply decorated with dark, natural-coloured plaster walls in the main bedroom and a lighter shade in the others, the rooms are uncomplicated, private, comfortable and cool in the heat of summer. They all offer views towards the sea from their terraces or balconies.

Bathrooms

The en-suite bathrooms all differ slightly in design but each has a shower, bidet and WC. Using local materials such as a stone basin or vanity unit, the designs are simple.

Kitchen

The kitchen is on one side of the ground floor of the main house and a run of units including a five-burner gas hob, electric oven and American-style fridge/freezer, extends along one wall, with an open pantry behind. Well equipped with everything you might need, the beautiful dining table is the showpiece. Running the length of the room, it is formed from one narrow piece of wood, making it both original and easy to chat across. Sliding doors lead to the outdoor kitchen and BBQ and the shaded outdoor dining area.

Living rooms

This is a villa where there are lots of places to sit or lounge, both inside and out, on a vast array of designer seating, from bright orange rockers to big cushioned loungers. The sitting room is in one wing of the main house but the wonderful collection of mostly mid-century chairs stretches across the front of this part of the property, too. This allows guests to party together or seek a quiet spot for some holiday reading or snoozing, up high on the roof, down low by the pool or in various places in between, with sensational views to the coast.

Perfect hygiene: to ensure an exceptional level of hygiene in all our villas, we’ve worked with our owners to create a Covid-19 villa management protocol. Based on recommendations from the World Health Organisation, and in compliance with current Italian national law, this protocol goes above and beyond our usual rigorous cleaning standards.

Prior to arrival, your villa will have been fully sanitised, including all surfaces, objects, kitchen items, curtains, sofas, throws, pillows, toys, and in and around the pool. You are welcome to ask for a detailed list of the entire cleaning procedure we do after each departure and before welcoming new guests to the property.

The owner of this house has complied with the following standards:

  • To ensure the necessary information concerning social distancing and the use of masks is available to all guests
  • To guarantee availability of and accessibility to hand hygiene systems with hydro-alcoholic solutions and soaps in all inside areas of, and pertaining to, the villa
  • To guarantee cleaning and disinfection of all areas according to national authority guidelines. Further information is available on request
  • For the swimming pool: to guarantee the efficacy of the water treatments, while respecting legal limits (the parameter for free active chlorine in the pool is between 1.0 – 1.5 mg/l; combined chlorine ≤ 0.40 mg/l; pH 6.5 – 7.5 or equivalent oxygen)
  • For air conditioning systems: to guarantee the air re-circulation function is switched off and, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, with the plant in off-mode, to clean the air filters of the heating/cooling plants that use heat pumps, fan coils and convectors, at the end of each stay
