Casa Botina

A fabulous restoration using an exquisite choice of antique materials has turned this comfortable house into a true rural idyll.

Occupying a secluded spot in the hills between Umbertide and Montone, Casa Botina is a rural delight offering 360* views and total privacy.

The accommodation is set across two buildings: the main house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and is suitably elegant, while retaining a cosy, comfortable feel. The separate apartment is located right next to the main house and has a kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom.

Casa Botina has been meticulously restored over the last few years retaining the original beams and doors and incorporating antique tiles and beautiful old marble both inside and out.

The large infinity pool sits on a lawned terrace in the cleverly landscaped garden, with far-reaching views in every direction. There is a paved area for relaxing here, as well as one closer to the house.

There are three spacious en suite double bedrooms in the main house and one double bedroom and bathroom in the separate apartment.

The showers are spacious and two of the bathrooms in the main house also have a freestanding tub, as does the one in the apartment.

The spacious kitchen with its stone floor, old beamed ceiling, marble worktops and large stove with a splashback of ancient tiles, seats up to 12. There are double doors opening onto the courtyard, with amazing views over the whole valley. There is a separate pantry.

Living room

The large triple-aspect living room has a terracotta-tiled floor, old beamed ceiling and a beautifully carved antique stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove. The décor is light, classic and comfortable.

Other rooms

There is a smaller TV room in the main house and a laundry room.

The fabulous pool (14mx6m), which can be heated, is beautifully sited with spectacular views across the valley. Next to the pool is a covered lounge area.

The property has its own water supply from a well. There is a reservoir for garden irrigation. The under-floor heating uses LPG. There is also air conditioning, wifi and satellite TV. The pool is heated by use of a heat pump, and it is equipped with an electrical cover. Softener present as well.
