Casciano
Wonderful typical bricks houses surrounded by enchanted forest with enjoyable views from each corner.
Surrounded by monumental trees, an ensemble of two houses 60 metres apart at the foot of Monte Cetona just a few kilometres from San Casciano dei Bagni. They differ in size, long history, character and possibilities.
The partially medieval masonry and historical documents in the episcopal archives suggest a long history. The property was apparently part of a religious foundation in the 18th century. The masonry, however, speaks of an older past, probably as a hostel with an adjoining tavern for pilgrims on their way on the Via Francigena to Rome or to the baths of San Casciano.
The large house (approx. 266 m²) has three storeys, a bakehouse in front and a loggia. Historic walls, carefully restored. Antique floors. Unusually high rooms. Extension reserves in the ground floors (former stables and magazines).
The smaller house (approx. 177 m²), two-storey, with separate driveway under tall oaks, on the upper floor with eat-in kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, with conversion reserves of four rooms on the ground floor.
The whole property is characterized by this strong nature, with centuries old trees, truffle picking spots, and the views onto the most ydillic contry side just outside San Casciano dei Bagni.
