Canova is a townhouse in a small borgo, dating back to 1700, that was completely restored in 2013. A renowned local architect was engaged to take this 2-3 bedroom farmhouse back to its original, integrating contemporary design with modern energy-saving technology, using natural and sustainable materials and paint (linseed oil, washed walls), blending 1700's (antique terra cotto flooring, antique external and internal (barn) doors) with sleek modern design (steel, concrete). The house is divided in two storeys (one upper and one lower), both at street level. The smart new lay out and facilities also create the opportunity to use the house as two separate apartments which is ideal for two couples or a small family with friends. The house is completely walled in with a lot of privacy and is part of a tiny hamlet ('borgo') that is located in a very quiet area. A high end renovation such as this is rare to find. An old farmhouse, turned into a sustainable home is (a) unique (occasion).
