Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean sea, is a true crossroads of many different cultures, both from Europe as well as Africa, as from East to West: Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, the Byzantine Empire. One can find a wide range of historical sites and architectural wonders, as well as splendid nature, from beautiful sand beaches to volcano based islands (Isole Eolie), gorgeous Pantelleria island in front of the Tunisian coast and active volcano Etna mountain, to visit, to watch at, to experience!

Food, food and food. Nothing is more important than food in Sicily. Famous for its citrus trees (lemons and oranges), but also almonds and tempting sweets (‘dolce’) are widely spread. Above all, Sicily is inhabited by a great, guest friendly people. Don’t forget to visit Baroque cities like Syracuse including its ancient island of Ortiga, Ragusa and Modica, but also Taormina, Catania and Palermo are important sites full of cultural highlights.

Sicily is an eternal magnet where one would go back many times.
