Hello, I’m Benedetta

I'm an art director and a foodie, as well as one of life’s enthusiasts. I live in Rome but my family roots are in Umbria while my heart is in Puglia. I truly believe that the right holiday guide is the best way to help you get to know and fully understand and appreciate a holiday destination. I also know that life is too short to eat bad food. This is why I started writing my travel articles, which I hope will help you make the most of your next trip.

Background

After high school I decided to apply for a four-year course in Fashion Art Direction at Polimoda in Florence, where I studied advertising, communication, visual arts and much more. After that, I took a course to become a life coach. Then, realising that I loved both food and hospitality, I moved to Puglia and worked at one of the region’s best-known masserias. Once there, I gained experience in everything I love, including food, hospitality and events. Most importantly, I discovered that I loved giving tips to our guests. I'm now back in Rome, working as a freelance food stylist while managing my family home in Umbria and writing articles about Puglia, and I feel like I've found my path.

Why Puglia stole my heart

While I don't have Puglian roots, something about this fabulous region stole my heart forever. Puglia welcomed me for two wonderful years when I worked six days a week in a masseria close to Ostuni. I immediately fell in love with the "vita lenta" way of life, which was ironic given my hectic work schedule. On my day off I would drive to the sea which, in Puglia, is pretty much any direction you choose, where I would relax on the warm rocks, reading a book and snacking on some barattiere while marvelling at the colour of the water. Then, a quick fish lunch on the beach and a nap – rocked to sleep by the sound of the waves - would be followed by a freshwater shower and an aperitivo as the sun set, to mark the end of another perfect day.
