Casa Centodieci

Casa Centodieci is an exquisite modern villa whose refined elegance enhances and preserves the beauty of the ancient land it is built on.

Casa Centodieci is an exclusive contemporary villa designed by a well known architect. Built entirely from local and natural materials, the property and land exist in glorious symbiosis.

Set among the olive groves only 3km from the Adriatic and close to the pretty towns and villages of the Itria Valley, the property is approached along an illuminated path of olive trees. Single storey, the villa is the apotheosis of comfortable minimalism. The rooms are light and large, sparsely decorated in natural colours but warmed by local stone and wood that reflect the land on which the house is built.

Comfortably accommodating six guests, the high-level design results in un-showy, luxury living, with an emphasis on the living for this is a house which guests are encouraged to relax into. The high-spec kitchen is sleek and contemporary, softened by the natural materials and the light that floods the space. The living room is spacious, too, while the vast corner sofa is squishy comfort personified. The bedrooms are perfect in their simplicity, enjoying en-suites with double basins and doors to private terraces.

A house for all seasons, in the warmer months the huge sliding doors in the living area can be opened up and guests can move seamlessly between the villa, the dining loggia, the outside terraces and the pool. A Mediterranean garden has been conjured out of the red soil, creating different pockets of interest.

Centodieci will have you dreaming and plotting of a move to Puglia. If you venture away from the villa you will find there is a wealth of treasures on the doorstep, from the Baroque towns of Ostuni and Lecce to stunning beaches and a coastal nature reserve.

Rooms description

Bedrooms

The three en-suite bedrooms are one side of the main entrance, while the living space is on the other. There are two doubles and one twin, all simply but extremely comfortably furnished in natural colours and materials. Each bedroom has access to a private terrace with wonderful views of the garden and its ancient olive trees.

Bathrooms

Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower, toilet, bidet and double basin, all with high-spec fixtures and fittings. There is a guest bathroom, too, and an outdoor shower.

Kitchen

The large and expertly equipped kitchen is a perfect instruction in contemporary design using natural materials. Its polished minimalism is warmed by the wall run of dark-wood cupboards. Matching form with function, these contain the appliances and storage, and the attention to detail in the carefully matched grain pattern of the wood is joyful. The same wood forms the dining table end of the central island where the mixed electric- and gas-hob and sink are sited. A picture window at one end frames the garden and olive trees, while sliding doors at the other end, and halfway along the long side, open out to the dining terrace and garden. Internally, the kitchen opens into the large living room. The smooth tactile stone flooring in the house is seamlessly continued outside. A satisfyingly square loggia shades the outdoor kitchen and BBQ as well as a stunning marble dining table overlooking the garden and pool.

Living rooms

The living room exemplifies cosy minimalism – a vast square room, it has a TV and a corner sofa that stretches the length of two walls. A long cut-out fireplace makes it cosy in the cooler months while light floods the space all year round from the large picture window and the sliding doors that open onto the terrace. Outside there are six sunloungers by the pool and a terrace adjacent to the dining loggia with plenty of comfy seating for all guests.
