La Stella
A Puglian property with more than a hint of Scandinavian influence, a stay at La Stella is one of soothing, sophisticated luxury
La Stella is an exquisite property that combines the very best of Puglian architecture with sleek Scandinavian design.
Tucked into olive groves halfway between Carovigno and Ostuni, two of the pretty white towns of the Itria Valley, this house for eight offers a calming and stylish retreat.
A wrap-around veranda, an abundance of neat, black-framed picture windows, a four-poster bed, a sparkling azure pool and a large roof terrace have squares and rectangles as a unifying design motif. The chalky coloured walls are a warm white, offset by the brass taps in the bathrooms and the use of rattan and linen, local pottery and tiles, and floor rugs. It all combines in a light and bright, comfortable and luxurious aesthetic..
Every detail has been carefully thought of and executed, from the length and depth of the pool steps, to the soothing back and forth of the cane rocking chairs on the veranda and the book pocket in the hammock, enabling guests to entirely switch off.
If guests can bear to leave La Stella to explore the pretty Puglian countryside and the coves and beaches of the Adriatic, they will find that the location of the house is as wonderful as the treasures found within its boundary walls.
