Trullino

A harmonious mix of old and new, Trullino is a celebration of the traditional conical architecture of the area and beautiful, bold minimalist design.

Trullino occupies a quiet location among the ancient olive groves at the top of Italy’s heel. Just twenty minutes from the Adriatic coast and within easy striking distance of the baroque towns and villages of this attractive region, a stay here offers lots to see and do.

A skillful restoration of a 19th century trullo with five domes, combined with a new, modern building, has resulted in an exceptional property where minimalist lines merge with traditional curves.

The original white stone walls, arch openings and vaulted ceilings are enhanced by the terracotta and blue-grey tones used throughout, inspired by the colours of the Apulian landscape. The bedrooms are housed in the trullo domes while the kitchen and living space, with its wood-burning stove, is in the new building. Here, large doors open onto the garden and pool, a covered terrace with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ, and an inviting lounge area, offering lots of space for everyone.

The spacious living areas, both inside and out, and the stunning pool offer the perfect base from which to explore this unspoilt corner of Italy.

Rooms description

Bedrooms

The three bedrooms and bathrooms are located in the traditional trulli, where the double beds are built into the alcoves. The third bedroom is on the first floor of a tower and the bathroom is on the ground floor below. Next to this is an extra room that can be used as a dressing room or relaxation corner.

Bathrooms

One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, where the second bathroom is reached via the corridor, but of private use only for the second bedroom. The third bathroom is on the ground floor of the tower, beneath the first-floor bedroom. Simply styled and with high-performance fixtures and fittings, the shower rooms have ceramic sinks in different muted colours. A separate toilet is located off the living area. There is also an outdoor shower.

Kitchen

The well-equipped kitchen, joined to the living room, is located in the modern building, with a log-burning stove marking where one begins and the other ends. The simple white kitchen design includes everything that guests might need, including an oven, ceramic hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The beautiful floor tiles unite the spaces and reflect the colours outside. There is an outdoor kitchen with a sink and BBQ.

Living rooms

Trullino is a house for all seasons and there are lots of places to sit and relax, both inside and out. The internal living space is open plan with the kitchen and has a wood-burning stove, and comfy furniture. Outside, there are various spots to choose from, including a hammock and a large lounge area outside the sitting room doors.
