Villa Fusea


Villa Fusea enjoys a magical mix of rural solitude and close proximity to beautiful beaches and pretty Puglian towns; it is a stunning property that wears its credentials lightly.


The olive and almond groves surrounding Villa Lorzata give little indication of the level of comfort that lies beyond the white gate. Recently built on a large plot, the house has been allowed to grow out of the landscape, making the most of the views, the light and the natural features. Close to the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic and the charming towns and villages of northern Puglia, it’s the perfect holiday retreat.

Spread over two floors, the house sleeps eight in four en-suite bedrooms, one of which is on the upper floor and can be used as a separate apartment with its own kitchenette, two furnished terraces and BBQ.

The simple luxury of the design extends to the exterior where the large pool is beautifully sited in front of the house. Next to it is an outdoor kitchen, shaded dining table and large double shaded sunbeds as well as outdoor showers, all of which give guests the space and comfort to switch off and recharge.

The property is a fabulous blend of form and function – the big terraces, low walls and the wide stone steps leading to the upper floor are aesthetically crafted from local materials, while comfort is whispered not shouted, giving guests everything they should want or need.

The upper terraces offer views of the sparkling blue Adriatic the property is a short drive away from the fabulous beaches and pretty towns of this unspoilt region.

Bedrooms

Three of the four en-suite bedrooms are on the ground floor, two of which have private terraces. All the bedrooms have comfortable double beds and are simply decorated in neutral tones. They all have air conditioning (and underfloor heating). The fourth bedroom is on the first floor and is part of a separate apartment that has its own living and dining space, a kitchenette and two furnished terraces with incredible views to the sea. One of the terraces has an outdoor kitchen with a BBQ, dining table and comfy seating area.

Bathrooms

Each bedroom has an en-suite with a shower, toilet, bidet and basin all with high-spec fixtures and fittings. There is a guest toilet on the ground floor and there are outdoor showers next to the pool.

Kitchen

The ground-floor kitchen is small but expertly equipped and forms part of the broken-plan living and dining space. It has a six-ring gas hob while the upstairs kitchenette has a four-ring one. The property has two outdoor kitchens with sinks and a stylish rusted-metal chimney BBQ - one located on the dining terrace next to the pool and the other on the first floor terrace making cooking outside easy and enjoyable.

Living rooms

The property has lots of places to sit and lounge, both inside and out, making the most of the location. The indoor sitting room forms part of the broken-plan living and dining space and has large wall windows that slide open to the pool and outdoor terraces. Upstairs, as well as two terraces with comfy outdoor sofas and chairs, there is a small living and dining space.

Outside

The villa is approached through an electric gate and down a private graveled drive through the olive groves. There is loads of space around the house which has been beautifully landscaped with dry stone walls and accommodating some ancient olive trees. The pool can be used from April to October and is perfectly placed for parents to watch children from the comfort of a sun lounger or while cooking in the outdoor kitchen. The dining table is perfect for al fresco lunches and dinners. There is ample parking space, including a shaded carport.

Villa Fusea is located in North Salento, just 5km from the Adriatic coast and the beach at Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve, among others. Some of Puglia’s most beautiful towns are also within short reach of the property. Head to the Itria Valley and the famous trulli villages of Alberobello and Locorotondo, or Martina Franca, Cisternino, Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica are worth a visit for their restaurants, maze of small streets, and market stalls. The town of Polignano a Mare ((60km) is built on limestone cliffs and its famous viewpoint, the Balconata sul Mare, offers stunning sea views. Stroll through the cobbled streets and across the central piazza of the old town, or head to coastal Monopoli (53km) with its Baroque castle and cathedral. Its old port is perfect for an evening stroll followed by a delicious dinner in one of the many restaurants. Lecce, otherwise known as Florence of the South, is 68km away. Cited as one of the most beautiful cities in southern Italy, it is heralded for its Baroque splendour.

Perfect hygiene: to ensure an exceptional level of hygiene in all our villas, we’ve worked with our owners to create a Covid-19 villa management protocol. Based on recommendations from the World Health Organisation, and in compliance with current Italian national law, this protocol goes above and beyond our usual rigorous cleaning standards.

Prior to arrival, your villa will have been fully sanitised, including all surfaces, objects, kitchen items, curtains, sofas, throws, pillows, toys, and in and around the pool. You are welcome to ask for a detailed list of the entire cleaning procedure we do after each departure and before welcoming new guests to the property.

The owner of this house has complied with the following standards:

  • To ensure the necessary information concerning social distancing and the use of masks is available to all guests
  • To guarantee availability of and accessibility to hand hygiene systems with hydro-alcoholic solutions and soaps in all inside areas of, and pertaining to, the villa
  • To guarantee cleaning and disinfection of all areas according to national authority guidelines. Further information is available on request
  • For the swimming pool: to guarantee the efficacy of the water treatments, while respecting legal limits (the parameter for free active chlorine in the pool is between 1.0 – 1.5 mg/l; combined chlorine ≤ 0.40 mg/l; pH 6.5 – 7.5 or equivalent oxygen)
  • For air conditioning systems: to guarantee the air re-circulation function is switched off and, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, with the plant in off-mode, to clean the air filters of the heating/cooling plants that use heat pumps, fan coils and convectors, at the end of each stay
