Villa Verella
A contemporary villa, built around a centenarian oak tree, that combines high-end design with a simple, rustic feel
Villa Verella is a newly built villa where the traditional elements of Puglian architecture have been brought bang up to date resulting in a house that is gentle and calm, where guests are able to switch off and relax.
The pretty towns of Ostuni, Cisternino and Ceglie Messapica form a triangle in this beautiful part of the Itria Valley and Villa Verella sits in the middle, just ten minutes’ drive from each.
Single-storey with traditional external steps that lead to the roof terrace, the house sleeps six in three double bedrooms with bathrooms, that sit around a central living space of a kitchen and lounge area. Of course, much of the experience of cooking, eating and sleeping in this part of Italy take place outdoors and here the outdoor ‘rooms’ are as exquisitely designed as those indoors.
The villa is painted a soft white that catches the light perfectly without dazzling guests. This is matched by a palette of natural materials and tonal colours that reflect the surrounding landscape. Low-key luxury shows up in the expert design of every element and guests will be seduced by the comfort of it all. It’s a property that sits perfectly in its environment.
Location-wise it could not be better placed for discovering the pretty towns, countryside and coastline of this delightful part of Puglia.
