Giare

Approached along an avenue of olive trees, this fabulous villa is a mix of Sicilian simplicity and sophistication

Giare is a new property that, though simple in design, includes all the right ingredients for a more than comfortable holiday in this glorious spot.

A single-storey modern villa in dark grey, it’s perfectly executed, offering breathtaking views and spacious living both inside and out for 4-6 guests. The open-plan kitchen and living room has a bedroom on either end, drawing guests onto the terrace with its fabulous views.

Guests at Giare – the name for the huge ceramic urns that support the vines on the terrace – will spend much of their time outside where there’s a sitting room and a dining table, both in the shade, a BBQ, and a long infinity pool (3m x 14m) with big views to the sea.

Close to Noto, and the other baroque towns of the Val di Noto, including Modica, Ragusa and Syracuse, guests are spoilt for choice regarding all things food and wine. Then there are the magnificent wild beaches of the Vendicari Nature Reserve or, if you like your beach experience more ordered, the Lido di Noto is a short drive away.

Rooms description

Bedrooms

There are two double en-suite bedrooms located either side of the living room and each with a door out onto the terrace. Simply decorated in a calming grey, they are as spacious as they are comfortable.

Bathrooms

Both bedrooms have an en-suite shower room and there is also a guest bathroom inside and an outdoor shower near the pool.

Kitchen

The central room of the property has a kitchen and dining area on one side and the living room on the other. The well-equipped kitchen has wall-mounted ovens and a mixed electric and gas hob, as well as open shelving for glassware and plates. A waterfall island has six barstools for indoor dining although it will be a rare occasion when guests won’t choose to sit outside on the terrace which is accessed through the glass doors that run the length of the room.

Living rooms

The living room is open plan with the kitchen but separate enough for guests to be able to watch TV or sit chatting. Comfy sofas, chairs and a coffee table provide the perfect basis for staring at the view and there is the same outside under the shade of the veranda. Or, flop on one of the stripey sun loungers at either end of the pool where the only necessary decision is to choose a palm tree or an olive tree as your backdrop.

Other rooms

There is a laundry room as well as a two guest shower rooms, one inside and one outside.

Your villa and Covid-19

To prevent any possible spread of Covid-19 and to enable you to enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday, all our villas are cleaned to the highest standard possible, and according to the latest Italian health and safety regulations.

Perfect hygiene: to ensure an exceptional level of hygiene in all our villas, we’ve worked with our owners to create a Covid-19 villa management protocol. Based on recommendations from the World Health Organisation, and in compliance with current Italian national law, this protocol goes above and beyond our usual rigorous cleaning standards.

Prior to arrival, your villa will have been fully sanitised, including all surfaces, objects, kitchen items, curtains, sofas, throws, pillows, toys, and in and around the pool. You are welcome to ask for a detailed list of the entire cleaning procedure we do after each departure and before welcoming new guests to the property.

The owner of this house has complied with the following standards:

  • To ensure the necessary information concerning social distancing and the use of masks is available to all guests
  • To guarantee availability of and accessibility to hand hygiene systems with hydro-alcoholic solutions and soaps in all inside areas of, and pertaining to, the villa
  • To guarantee cleaning and disinfection of all areas according to national authority guidelines. Further information is available on request
  • For the swimming pool: to guarantee the efficacy of the water treatments, while respecting legal limits (the parameter for free active chlorine in the pool is between 1.0 – 1.5 mg/l; combined chlorine ≤ 0.40 mg/l; pH 6.5 – 7.5 or equivalent oxygen)
  • For air conditioning systems: to guarantee the air re-circulation function is switched off and, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, with the plant in off-mode, to clean the air filters of the heating/cooling plants that use heat pumps, fan coils and convectors, at the end of each stay
