Casa il Sogno

Lovely place in the real Umbrian countryside. Ideal holiday house for couples or small family.

This cosy villa (6 sleeps, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, air conditioned) newly built, using authentic materials like stone exposed outside walls and wooden beams is a true family home. The house is very complete and the owners thought about everything to make the house the perfect place to stay. Many of our guests return every year to Il Sogno as they feel really at ease here. In 2024 the bathrooms were renewed and the interior got some adjustments.

The interior is done in a light modern, colorful and cosy style. The house is dominantly positioned on an important Umbrian hillside near Lake Trasimeno and Perugia, enjoying spectacular vast views to Tuscany (Montepulciano). The outside sofas are the perfect place to stay all day. There is an outside fireplace which is the BBQ area in the summer and the perfect heating for sitting outside during chilly evenings. Il Sogno has a lovely garden with olive and fruit trees and some lawn around. The old Medieval small town of Piegaro is 2 kilometers away where the A1 Motorway exits for Rome and Florence only 20 minutes drive.

On the first floor there are 3 colorful bedrooms, all with two 2 single beds. In one room the beds are made up as a double bed with a top mattress.

Bathrooms

1 en-suite bathroom and 1 bathroom on the first floor. All in modern style.

Kitchen

Well equipped kitchen with oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Beautiful JURA espresso machine! Nice Bridgewater China ware.

Living rooms

Spacious living room, in modern style, with satellite TV and DVD player. Large selection of books available. Flat Internet access included in the rental price. Traditional wood burning stove, which makes the house also ideal for winter/autumn lets.

Other rooms

In the pantry you will find the washing machine and dryer.

Mid week cleaning once a week. All towels and bed linen are included in the rental price.

Outside

The house has a private garden with lawn, olive and fruit trees. The garden is maintained all year through and will be irrigated every night. Garden furniture is available as well as separate pool furniture. Il Sogno has a large veranda on the front side of the house where the dining table is positioned and a nice comfortable sofa set overlooking the valley. The heated pool is positioned next to the house, has a child friendly cover and has a covered sun terrace overlooking the valley .

Notes

Sogno will have new bathrooms and new glass fireplace as of early 2024. In the Villa you will find the soap, shampoo and shower gel exclusively produced in Umbria and composed by bio agriculture and essential oils.

Golf courses are near Panicarola (16 km) at Golf Course Lamborghini (9 holes) and in Ellera Umbra (28 km) at Golf Club Perugia (18 holes). Antognolla Golf club an 18-hole course, one of the best of Italy (48km)

Upon request against separate charge special activities may be organised by SpecialUmbria. One can think of guided tours to natural parks or guided cultural visits to art cities. Please check with us directly for availability and rates. Also, private cooking lessons or a private cook at home for a customised lunch, buffet, dinner or BBQ can be arranged.

Happenings

The World famous Umbria Jazz festival in the first 2 weeks of July. Recent artists: Diana Krall, John Legend, Lady Gaga. In 2020 Lenny Kravitz willl perform. Every year in August in Città della Pieve a high quality 'Palio' (medieval festival) with all kind of activities during this period will be organized . Please ask for more information.

The Lake Trasimeno is 25 km away. Nearest village is Piegaro (2 km) and other important towns are Citta della Pieve (13 km), Paciano (18 km) and Panicale (13 km). Piegaro is a sleepy medieval town with some shops (butcher, bakery, small grocery), bars, pharmacy, bank and church. Better equipped shops one can find in Tavernelle di Panicale (9 km) on the way to Perugia. In Piegaro and around one can find some local restaurants; a broader offer with also some fine restaurants is found in Citta della Pieve.

Perfect hygiene: to ensure an exceptional level of hygiene in all our villas, we’ve worked with our owners to create a Covid-19 villa management protocol. Based on recommendations from the World Health Organisation, and in compliance with current Italian national law, this protocol goes above and beyond our usual rigorous cleaning standards.

Prior to arrival, your villa will have been fully sanitised, including all surfaces, objects, kitchen items, curtains, sofas, throws, pillows, toys, and in and around the pool. You are welcome to ask for a detailed list of the entire cleaning procedure we do after each departure and before welcoming new guests to the property.
