In February 2019 this new project of Specialumbria was completed. The garden was planted in April and is already green. Castellaccio Suite is a very special holiday design villa for 2 guests, with private pool and the best imaginable views. Really unique in Tuscany and Umbria. Cocooning was the word the owners had in mind when talking about the initial ideas for this house. This is what you will experience too!

Castellaccio Suite is the ideal place for your honeymoon, your anniversary, or just the 2 of you together after a long period of hard work. It’s all about unwinding, reading books, a jump in the pool or a walk, and just relaxing.

Found in the rolling hills on 600 meters high, on the border with Tuscany, this villa is the ideal place to stay ‘just the 2 of you together’. Castellaccio Suite is the perfect place to come and sit and snooze and never be tickled by the desire to leave. You are surrounded by acres of woods and olive groves, timeless views and your own private pool. It’s staggeringly beautiful and heaven for those who wish to shake the city from their hair.

The small town of Piegaro is easy to reach in 10 minutes. Here you will find a nice bar and restaurant with outside terrace, the baker, the butcher and some small local shops. And if you don't want to go out to do your shopping...we will bring it up! Castellaccio Suite is meant to be your 5***** private home and we will do all to make you happy.

Bedrooms

The airconditioned (from Easter 2024) bedroom is positioned on the first floor. Here you will experience a real watchtower feeling. A comfortable high quality bed with an orthopedic mattress upholstered with fabric and with natural pure linen bed linen in many pillows to stay in bed all day! Nice design lamps in the bedroom from Ingo Maurer.

Bathrooms

The comfortable bathroom with walk-in shower, with beautiful tiles is opposite of the bedroom on the same floor. A separate toilet is positioned next to the bathroom.

Kitchen

The bespoke kitchen is made by carpenter from the local village. Modern style and with all equipment for good cooking. Smeg 50s fridge, Illy espressomachine.

Living rooms

The living area feels like a glass house, with spectacular views from every corner. A comfy double sofa in blue velvet by Filippo Ghezzani and 2 nice velvet pink armchairs by MADE in the sitting room.

Other rooms

In the technical room attached to the house the washing machine with dryer is positioned.

Weekly fresh bed linen and towels included. Weekly cleaning and maintenance of the pool and garden in case of stays longer than a week.

Outside

The house is positioned on the slope of the highest hill in the area (Monte Arale, 850 meters high). You are experiencing here a real balcony feeling with no disturbance around you. Views towards Montepulciano, over lake Trasimeno with Cortona and even Assisi can be seen. It's absolutely spectacular. In the garden are a few good shadow area's. After the pictures had been made a sail pergola was installed near the pool. Just in front of the house a nice pool (8 x 3 meters) is positioned with inside steps. There will be comfortable sun mattresses by TRIMM Copenhagen and outside reading chairs. In front of the kitchen you can enjoy your dinner outside at the outside dining table and soft seating chairs from the Umbrian brand EMU. The outside dining area is covered by a pergola. From here you will enjoy spectacular sunsets over the rolling hills.

Notes

In the Villa you will find soap, shampoo and shower gel exclusively produced in Umbria and composed by bio agriculture and essential oils. Aircon on the top floor level where the bedroom is located.

The Lake Trasimeno is 25 km away. Nearest village is Piegaro (2 km) and other interesting towns are Città della Pieve (13 km), Paciano (18 km) and Panicale (13 km). Piegaro is a sleepy medieval town with some shops (butcher, bakery, small grocery), bars, pharmacy, ATM and church. Better equipped shops one can find in Tavernelle di Panicale (9 km) on the way to Perugia. In Piegaro and around one can find some local restaurants; a broader offer with also some fine restaurants is found in Città della Pieve.

Nearest airports are Umbria International Airport Sant'Egidio near Perugia (45 km), Rome Fiumicino (190 km) and Ciampino (175 km) International Airports and Florence International Airport (165 km); nearest A1 Motorway exits are at Fabro (20 km) for Rome and exit Chiusi (25 km) for Florence; international train station of Chiusi (22 km) also hosts car rentals.
