L'Opera

The verdant landscape that surrounds this large property is reflected in the calm energy within, all just a short drive from the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic

Note: L'Opera will be offered in this setting for max 8-10 guests. On request this property can be prepared also for 16-18 guest where more ensuites will be opened for guests. Pricing for larger groups mentioned under 'availability'.

Set in one of the most unspoilt areas of Italy, L'Opera is a seamless fusion of ancient buildings and modern design. Once run as a boutique hotel, this large property is set over three buildings, parts of which are known to date from as far back as 1485.

Guests are indulged by the spacious layout that includes a two-storey main building with a breathtaking entrance, an impressively large living room, a state-of-the-art kitchen and three double bedrooms upstairs. This is attached to a smaller two-storey farmhouse (Annex 1) with three further bedrooms, one of which is a fabulous principal suite. A further, stand-alone building (Annex 2) houses a yoga studio, Jacuzzi, sauna and hammam on the ground floor. Here, glass doors open to the pool at one end and to the expansive view over the surrounding hills along the longer wall, while upstairs there's a large, family-sized bedroom. All rooms have a floor-cooling system.

The buildings’ simple, clean lines are thoughtfully decorated with a modern mix of Nordic and Italian interior design in ice-cream colours. Much of the furniture has been custom-made exclusively for the property using high-end materials, and unique flea-market finds add elegance and comfort to an interior that is light and bright, original and relaxing.

The property’s tranquil setting offers magnificent views from myriad vantage points, including from the infinity-edge pool. L'Opera's layout means guests can always find a quiet corner while large groups can party with ease thanks to the big reception rooms, separate buildings, beautiful grounds and the easy inside-outside flow between. In fact, it's the perfect location for a big celebration - please get in touch with our team if you would like to discuss this further.

While you could happily spend your entire holiday at the house and in its lovely gardens, it would be a shame not to explore the ancient towns of Urbino, Gubbio and Fabriano, or the Adriatic coast.

Rooms description

Bedrooms

There are nine double en-suite bedrooms - six are upstairs in the main building, two in Annex 1 and a family room upstairs in Annex 2. In the 8-10 max guests set up only the main building bedrooms will be offered. When the house will be used for 16-18 guests also the annexes will be offered.
These are beautiful calm spaces in natural colours with whitewashed wooden beamed ceilings. As with the rest of the house, the feel of things has been carefully considered which means the floors are smooth and lovely to walk on in bare feet and the linen on the beds makes for a great night's sleep. Big and light and airy, these are rooms that are restful retreats.

Bathrooms

All the bedrooms are en-suite. While some of the showers are placed behind the wall at the head of the bed, most rooms have a separate shower room. Light and bright with big mirrors and high-spec fixtures and fittings, they follow the less-is-more design of the rest of the house.

Kitchen

The kitchen, with its natural oak island, is in the main house and, along with other pieces throughout the property, was custom-made by a local carpenter. Expertly equipped - all appliances are by Mareno - it's a fabulous space to prep and cook although the views from the window may prove distracting. If you would prefer to have a chef to prepare a special meal or for every meal throughout your stay, please let us know and we can arrange it.

Living rooms

The vast double reception room is located in the main building and opens onto the dining room. Its central feature is its high ceiling with a walkway to the bedroom area on the second floor. Guests can choose to dine inside or out.

Other rooms

Two pantries are located in the main building, along with a hub for the home-control technology and a laundry area. The ground floor of Annex 2, which is separate from the main building, is a wellness area with a yoga studio, a Jacuzzi, hammam and sauna.

Leisure & Activities

Activities

Some of the best beaches of the Adriatic are within 30-50 minutes’ drive of the property, including the white cliffs of Monte Conero, which is prized as one of Italy's loveliest beaches. Visit the caves at Frasassi and Furlo, as well as Monte Sibylline and Monte San Bartolo and experience the full glory of this coastline. If you've come for the food, you won't be disappointed. You have the pick of two Michelin starred restaurants: Moreno Cedroni's Madonnina del Pescatore and Mauro Uliassi's eponymous Uliassi in Senigallia. We recommend you don't try to choose between them but try them both and that you add Clandestino in Portonovo, too - it's well worth the drive.

Specials

We are happy to tailor-make itineraries for your stay, which might include the services of a local guide, massage therapist, personal trainer and/or a yoga instructor. We can also organise a private chef for your entire stay, someone who can prepare a special lunch, dinner or BBQ when required, or cooking lessons for guests. L'Opera is the perfect property to host friends and family for a big celebration. If you would like any help with organising any or all of these, please contact us directly for rates and availability.

Happenings

L'Opera is perfectly placed to make the most of the region's great cultural and gastronomic events, including the Summer Jamboree festival in Senigallia, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the historical Palio dell'Oca in Cagli, and, when in season, the local black truffle markets. In the autumn, the national white truffle market takes place in Acqualagna and Pergola, the olive and olive oil market in Cartoceto and more events in Senigallia.
