Repertorio

A sophisticated curation of large-scale artworks, ceramic sculptures and designer lighting are set against a breezy backdrop of Berber and Puglian influences

Repertorio is an incredible property in an exquisite location in the heart of the Itria Valley. As much about the space outside as in, guests can’t help but slow down and ease into the beauty of the place.

Just minutes from Ostuni, yet surrounded by olive groves and entirely private, the single-storey building is a contemporary homage to Puglia, enriched by Berber influences and carefully curated art and lighting. Huge Crittall-style doors lead to the garden from almost every room, connecting the house to the landscape.

Inside, the rich palette of earthy colours is matched by beautiful natural materials that range from granite to linen, velvet to cane. Sleeping eight, the four en-suite bedrooms are oases of calm, while the beautiful art collection is perfectly curated so as not to overwhelm the space.

A cool Mediterranean feel of easy summer days continues in the garden which has been just as artfully designed with a large and elegant pool, an outdoor kitchen and an enviable number of places to be social or solitary.

With the charming towns and villages of the Itria Valley on the doorstep and the delights of the Adriatic coast just half an hour away, this is a house that will capture your heart and have you scrolling Puglian real estate.

Rooms description

Bedrooms

There are four bedrooms including one super king and three doubles. Decorated in earthy tones, with original artwork and rich natural fabrics such as linen and velvet, as well as doors out onto the terrace, the rooms strike the perfect balance between relaxing and interesting. Although the design aesthetic is Puglian at heart, there are also Berber decorative influences.

Bathrooms

There are four bathrooms, all different yet using a similar palette of rich natural materials including stone and marble. One of the showers is in a dark striped granite and is lit from above by a small skylight. The colours are strong and earthy, the design is original and calming and the fixtures and fittings are top notch.

Kitchen

The house has a well-equipped kitchen inside with everything that guests might need. There is also a shaded outdoor kitchen which is so dreamy in its setting and set-up that it could encourage even the most reluctant cook to get stuck in and is right next to the outside dining table.

Living rooms

The property has been designed with relaxing and socialising at its heart. There are two living rooms, both of which are strongly connected to the garden with huge Crittall-style doors, lots of light, comfortable design-led seating and lighting and interesting art collections including ceramic works by the artist owner. Guests can also sit outside on the sunken half-moon sofa in the shade of the olive trees or lounge by the pool.

Outside

With privacy granted by the surrounding olive grove, the house is approached down a rural road. The garden has been designed with as much care and artistry as the interior of the property and mixes desert cactus with Mediterranean grasses and flowers that form beds within and around the white gravel paths. The 60sqm pool is in front of the longer length of the house and has a smooth terrace between the two where cane sun loungers give a glamourous film-set feel. There are external steps to the roof terrace where guests can watch the sun set or rise over the olive groves. Otherwise, there are several outside seating and dining areas: comfortable spaces in which to chill and relax, including an outdoor kitchen next to a long wooden dining table in the shade of an awning. Smooth terraces make for bare-foot wandering and both citrus and olive trees tie the house to its location.
