Santacroce
Natural materials and a pared-back colour palette have been used to transform this four-coned building into an exquisitely stylish and comfortable holiday house
This unique and stylishly restored four-cone Puglian property is surrounded by olive and citrus groves. As well as its peaceful rural location, it is close to both the pretty white towns of the Itria Valley and the stunning Adriatic coast.
Trullo Santacroce is the fabulous result of an inspired restoration by a team of dedicated experts. They sought to renovate the building using traditional materials and methods, keeping its old feel while ensuring modern-day comfort and style to serve guests’ 21st century needs.
Inside, there is a Scandinavian aesthetic thanks to a pared-back colour palette of creams and whites with a soft black for the kitchen cupboards and any fixtures and fittings. Natural materials such as light wood, stone, woven grass, rope, linen and cotton continue the Scandi aesthetic, creating a tactile and calming interior where guests can comfortably relax in style. Architecturally, each niche, arch and curve has been cleverly appropriated, from the perfect shower ‘cubicle’ to a cosy reading nook with the required lighting, all celebrating the building’s rich history.
Outside, the detailing is equally exacting, balancing style, comfort and function. The beautiful pool is lined in a dark colour which when the water is still, offers a perfect reflection of the building.
Holidays are for eating, sleeping and occasionally doing, and guests’ needs are ably catered for here, both inside and out. However, the exquisite location also makes the property rich in venturing opportunities. Whether it’s beach days or marveling at Baroque architecture, dining out on the delicious local produce or enjoying a vineyard tour and tasting, there is a little something for everyone.
