La Solda
Modern design meets traditional Umbrian charm in this sophisticated villa close to the hilltop town of Città della Pieve
This spectacular and characterful villa for six was completed in the summer of 2021. Designed and project managed by SpecialUmbria, its interiors are a celebration of modern European design, while its exterior and grounds draw on traditional Umbrian charm.
Colourful and comfortable, the villa sleeps six in three double, air-conditioned, en suite bedrooms. The dark green, handcrafted kitchen and pantry are fitted with top-of-the-range appliances and along with the rest of the rooms, include myriad beautiful design features, such as the fabulous light fittings and floor tiles. The property's Dutch owners are passionate art collectors and pieces from their collection hang throughout the house.
Meanwhile, outside, age-old olive trees frame the property while stunning views stretch for miles over the surrounding hills with Monte Cetona behind. Clever landscaping, a lovely pool (14mx4m) and a welcoming veranda running along the garden side of the house make it the ideal place for seamless indoor-outdoor living. In fact, thoughtful, smart and eyecatching design throughout make this property truly stand out, both in the heat of summer and throughout the cooler months.
La Solda's unique location offers total privacy in this beautiful and ancient rolling landscape, yet Città della Pieve is just moments away. A medieval hilltop town that has escaped mass tourism and still exudes genuine Italian character, it is often referred to as ‘the picture-perfect Italian town’. It remains the perfect place for la passeggiata, with stunning historic buildings, pretty places to sit outside for a drink and lots of lovely local restaurants. Click here for more information.
