Pozza

In 2009 together with the owners at that time we spoke about building a larger country house to be divided in four apartments. Important question was how to create a structure in which all apartments would gain as much as possible privacy. Privacy on their terraces and in their private gardens, like if it were four independent properties. The design worked out wonderfully well and in 2011 we delivered this project exactly as we had in mind from the beginning.

For the interior design we choose a cozy industrial, loft style, with quite some color elements to make it fresh and particulary interesting for younger families. We searched for old design elements like old iron, old cupboards and tables in heavily used wood.

In 2016 the new owners of Pozza asked us to make the house even more cozy and asked us to add another bedroom. This became a larger project as initially foreseen in which we moved the bedrooms, created an entrance hall and put in a pink (!) front door, added 2 bathrooms and installed a Jacuzzi under a large new pergola on the side of the house. The owners especially liked the old Sicilian style tiles which we used in the end for the bathrooms and in the kitchen. We added more fabrics and lights. The colorful Missoni Home fabrics worked really well with the mix of furniture and colors which were already present and we had to install the wonderful lights of the young Italian designers of Karman.

Pozza now became the family home of this Dutch family where they feel extremely well many weeks during the year when they are here in Umbria. Also Pozza became a place where guests come back year after year.
